At the Calgary Social Capital Society, we believe money should never stand in the way of good people doing good work. That’s why we offer interest-free loans to our members — not as a profit-making tool, but as a way to support one another in times of need or in pursuit of personal and community goals.

Whether it’s building a greenhouse, funding a creative project, covering travel for a family emergency, or launching a community event, our loans are designed to help members focus on what really matters: growth, contribution, and connection — not financial stress.

Loans are reviewed and approved by our board, who set fair limits based on the size of our community fund. While requested amounts can’t always be guaranteed, we do our best to ensure that every loan helps someone move forward in a meaningful way.

Our loan fund grows through membership contributions and generous community donations. Every dollar strengthens our collective ability to support one another. If you love the idea of a community built on trust, cooperation, and mutual aid, we welcome both one-time and ongoing contributions.
