LET’S BUILD SOCIAL CAPITAL TOGETHER
Upcoming events.
Our events bring people together to learn, share, and build community — from thought-provoking dialogues to hands-on workshops, all led by local presenters. Members attend free, while non-members are welcome with a suggested $10 donation. The exception? Events at public libraries, which are always free — because we love libraries, and we love the people who use them.
Interested in presenting? We’d love to hear from you!
Email us at calgarysocialcapitalsociety@gmail.com with your topic and a short outline, and we’ll help with organizing and promotion. Whether it’s a skill share, a creative session, or a unique idea of your own, our stage is open and we can’t wait to see what you bring.
Annual Picnic
Join us for the our annual community picnic on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 3:00 pm at North Glenmore Park’s Song Sparrow Site.
At CSCS, we believe that strong communities are built through meaningful relationships. Our annual picnic is an opportunity to connect with fellow members, welcome new faces, strengthen friendships, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon together in one of Calgary’s beautiful park settings.
Bring your family, friends, and a favourite dish or snack to share. Enjoy great food, engaging conversations, outdoor activities, and the chance to build the connections that make our community stronger.

Everyone is welcome. We look forward to celebrating another year of friendship, belonging, and community with you.
Cultural Transformation Walk
To raise awareness that we are one human family worldwide.
Join us for a leisurely community walk celebrating Calgary's cultural and religious diversity. People of all backgrounds, faiths, cultures, and traditions are welcome—whether you wear a turban, kippah, hijab, topi, or simply come as you are. We also welcome those who do not identify with any particular faith or tradition.
Together, we will walk in solidarity, friendship, and mutual respect, sharing a powerful message about the kind of Calgary we want to build: a city rooted in inclusion, compassion, and our shared humanity. As human beings, we stand—and walk—with humanity.
Participants are invited to come as themselves, not as representatives of nations, causes, or political movements. Personal expressions of identity are welcome; however, please do not bring flags or political symbols, so that the focus remains on our shared humanity and the values that unite us.
Cafe Dialogue
WHEN GOVERNMENTS STALL AND THE UN STAND STILL - How can global citizens move the needle on the middle east crisis?
Moderated by Maen Amer, activist and board member of the Palestinian Community Association of Calgary, join us for a conversation around an important topic.
Herb Walk
Come join us for an informative herb walk with local Herbalist Zoe Lynne as she takes us through the walking path of Griffith Woods on Fathers Day. Suggested donation of $10 for non-members. Bring water and good shoes as we enjoy one of the nature spaces in Calgary.
